Positive Partnerships with Parents - London

Practical strategies for advancing parental engagement to increase student achievement

Parental involvement is not equal to parental engagement – Are you confident that your school’s policy is effectively incorporating and engaging parents into the learning process?

As you’re aware, the success of a child’s development and learning is directly linked to the involvement of parents in the learning process. According to a 2009 DCSF Report, children become more confident and receptive to learning when parents have a greater knowledge and awareness of their children’s education. Teachers must partner with parents to utilise this transformative potential within parents to raise attainment, this means transcending isolated events such as parent evenings.

Attend the 6th annual Positive Partnerships with Parents conference to create your school’s personalised roadmap to parental support. Return to your school with a toolkit to improve behaviour and attitudes, which will lead to increased student achievement.

You will have the opportunity to take away strategies of proven success from Head of School, at King Ethelbert, Kate Greig. Kate will give you nuts and bolts advice on how to achieve Outstanding by engaging parents. Leading experts and practitioners will provide you with the most current developments in effective methods for parent partnership.

This will allow you to return to your school ready to implement evidenced based interventions, including guidelines for developing and implementing parent forums, enrichment activities to engage fathers and communication tools for conflict management.
