We are delighted to welcome Margaret Talbot, Chief executive of the Association for Physical Education, to open the conference. Margaret will show you what the review of Primary PE means for you, and how you can prepare for the changes.

We are also pleased to welcome Crichton Casbon, formerly Special Advisor to the QCA on PE, to run two very practical workshops. Crichton will first help Primary then Secondary colleagues use the QCA’s ten high quality outcomes to help you assess your pupils’ wider achievements in PE.

We are delighted to welcome as our guest speaker this year Sir Trevor Brooking CBE. Sir Trevor, as Director of Development at the Football Association and formerly chair of Sport England, is ideally placed to show you how to develop athletes of the future. A passionate and life-long believer in grassroots football, Sir Trevor will inspire you with his beliefs on the future of school sport, whilst also updating you on developments within the FA regarding youth development.

Leading Headteachers and Heads of PE will also be on hand, delivering practical workshops based on their knowledge, experience and successes, helping you to:
• Ensure effective continuity of learning at transition points
• Build a creative curriculum at key stage 3
• Lead whole school PE
• Incorporate non-traditional activities to increase participation
