“There are still far too many schools where fewer than a third of children reach the basic standard of five good GCSEs including English and Maths”.
Nick Gibb MP, Shadow Schools Secretary
Closing the achievement gap has always been a problem for schools. We know that girls often do better than boys and pupils that come from wealthier areas outperform those in deprived areas. However with so many factors affecting achievement including, gender, race, class and background, it is difficult to know where to start. What strategies can you put in place that will close all of these gaps in your school?
Attend the inaugural Tackling Underachievement in Schools conference to receive expert advice from practitioners who have tried and tested methods for combating underachievement and raising standards.
